How long will a chin treatment last?

Chin augmentation will last 9m to 1 year depending on the filler used.

Will it be painful?

Chin augmentation is not very painful. The chin may feel a bit firm with the new filler but this will settle in a few days. Numbing cream is also used to make the procedure as painless as possible.

Chin Fillers

What causes a weak chin

A smaller jaw bone or less bone growth can cause poor chin projection. This is often due to genetics. The reduced bone volume as we age also gives the appearance of a weak chin.

When we age the bone of the lower jaw disappears slowly with time and this can create the appearance of a weakend chin and can affect the look of your lips, mid face and profile.

How can a weak chin be treated?

Non prominent chins can be augmented or filled with dermal fillers. Either Hyaluronic Acid or Calcium Hydroxylapatite (Radiesse) fillers can be used to increase projection of the chin.

What does it cost?

This will depend on the severity of the deficit. Most patients see a nice results with 1ml of filler but up to 3mls can be used, although not on the same day.

Costs for 1ml is £320, 2mls is £600.

Are there any other treatments?

A more expensive but permanent solution may be a chin implant, but you will need to see a plastic surgeon for this.

The chin can also be remodelled with muscle relaxing treatments. If you suffer from a pebbled chin and want to relax the muscle for a smoother contour this can be performed in the clinic. Please email for more details.

What do I do after treatment?

I will clean the chin and give you an ice pack for comfort. I will ask you not to exercise for 24 hours and avoid resting on the chin for 1-2 days. You can take some paracetamol to help ease any discomfort. Minimal touching of the area is advised.

Some bruising may occur after chin fillers but this can recovered with makeup. The chin is unfortunately prone to bruising so please dont book an appointment if you have an important event in a weeks time.

Where can I see some before and after pictures?

The clinic takes your privacy seriously and I dont believe that treatment photos should be freely available in the public domain as your photos can then be used by anyone without your permission. I have many before and after photos that my patients have consented to me showing you in the privacy of the clinic so that you can see what lovely results can be achieved. So please book in to discuss options with me.
